Win games just by using GameWait!

On the right side, you may see the “GW Points Leaders” and “Your GW Points” sections. And you may wonder, what are those?

Well, we thought a fun way to get people to use the site and build the GameWait community was to give points for almost every action on the site. So now if you make a comment on anything in the main site (news, featured games, game descriptions, or any other page that has a comment section) you get points added to your profile.

You don’t just get points for making comments, though. Every time you use the Excito-meter, any time you vote in a poll, and any time you start a new topic in the forums or even reply to a topic in the forums, you get points!

And what would compel you to get more points? Pride, of course! And… free games or other loot! That’s right, we will give the person with the highest GameWait Points total (GWP, or “Goops” for short) at 11:59PM on the last day of the month a prize. Check below to see what this month’s prize is and to see the complete rules (nothing complicated of course). And often there will be another prize for people who didn’t quite make it to the #1 spot.

The Goops System:

• Post a comment: 40 Goops
• Start a forum topic: 30 Goops
• Reply to forum topic: 10 Goops
• Vote in poll: 5 Goops
• Use Excito-meter: 2 Goops

Prizes for November 2009

Leader in Goops points will receive choice of (1) game from either iWin, PlayFirst, Big Fish Games, or Reflexive portals.

One user from places 2-10 will receive weighted chance to win (1) game from one of the same portals. (weighted by Goops totals)

The rules:

1. No spamming. Posting just to get points is a big no-no. You will be given two warnings for this with your comment or posts removed and points subtracted. Thereafter, your comments or posts will be removed and DOUBLE the points subtracted from your Goops total. Be sensible here. We all know what spam is.
2. Please sign up with your valid email address. We will use it to contact you to collect your winnings. If a week goes by without being able to contact you, another winner based on points will be chosen.
3. Only one account per person. If we find more than one account belongs to the same person, all his or her accounts will be removed from the Goops system.
4. Winners will be posted on this page. If you wish not to be posted here, let us know.
5. Points have no monetary value.
6. Points reset to zero at the conclusion of every month’s contest.
7. Have fun! Spread the word… the more people who play, the better and more plentiful the prizes will get!
